WY Scam Ignoring ACPO

Another Employee here has recived a NIP for 34MPH which is below the guidelines. Looks like the revenue stream is drying up.

Guidelines are guidelines, not rules. The law says 30, anything you get away with above that should be considered a bonus, not a right

Certain circumatances may require less tolerance, I wouldnt want people being let off doing 35mph outside a school at 3pm.

Nah, they can do you for anything over 30, shouldn't, but can. Like how we shouldn't drive in cycle lanes, but can.

If you check the ACPO guidelines it's 35mph. Looking at the Table it's 10% + 2MPH that seems to be the rule.

Speedos are out by default right...so is the speed limit by actual physical speed or by what it says on the speedo?

Very few, if any, modern speedos read slow below 70 mph. Speed limit is 30 - its a maximium, if you have a concern over speedo accuaracy, drive below an indicated 30.

As you know Mr JDP, I'm not a speed kills type, but 30 limits being exceeded is a no no for me.

Shortly after passing her test my daughter was caught doing 32,the policeman upon discovering she was still in the probationary period(6 points and you have to take another test)gave her a ticket,but told her if she had not been he would have let her off with a warning.B***ard.

It's not a rule, but a guideline, they go on about it all the time in SP&L.

Matter of opinion mate. In at least one of the cases I mentioned the driver was going too fast for the conditions and lost control of the vehicle. As we all know sometimes 30 is too fast.

Personally I'd raise the driving age and insist on green L plates but thats another discussion.

THATS THE PROBLEM!!!!!! You look at the road not the speedo and work out the best speed. The emphasis is in the wrong area. My Son is being taught at the moment and MY advice which is to drive to the conditions and GIVE YOURSELF TIME is seemingley at odds with "passing the test". Raising the age does NOTHING. WHY because in the end it is experience. Start at 17 and have 5 years at 21 and the accident rate is the same as start at 20 and five years later. It's experience that tempers attitude not age.

I'm afraid I'm with unrep. Quite simply any one driving on the public highway should have the ability to coordinate both or they should not hold a licence.

I do find the PCs attitude strange however.

Ok, driving above 30 past a school midweek is just silly and wreckless. However I know plenty of roads with no or few houses with a 30 limit which isnt required really and i wouldnt blame anyone for going faster on.

For me its all about the circumstances, location, time, visability etc etc

Speed doesnt kill bad driving does!

I watched an interesting vid recently which highlighted how people driving at the speed limit on the motorway didnt improve peoples bad driving. Ok so this is a bit of an experiment which isnt the be all and end all but interesting none the less. Let me know your thoughts.
