Has anyone done the guided tour of the RING with Eddie from Hotel An Der Nordschleife???

Booked in to stay at the hotel but wasn’t sure if the guided tour was worth doing??

FYI have only done around 35 laps of the Ring so got a LOT to learn if recommended.

I have done a Ringwalk with RSR Nurburg. Not sure if its the same or similar, but I would highly recommend.

They take you round the track in minibuses slowly talking you through the track, the lines, the things to avoid and the history of it and you stop at numerous points, get out of the minibuses so you can walk the hills/cambers and get talked in more detail.

It is fantastic, just to feel the curves, cambers and hills, find out more about the track and check out the scenery too. Even if you know the track very well it is worthwhile just to experience everything closer.

Whatever you're doing with Eddie is not the official trackwalk. I would suggest it probably involves a quick look at the easy-to-get-to corners.

The official trackwalk is ON the track, and we look at all the problem areas with our qualified instructors talking...

I stay with Eddie every time that I go to the ring, and he knows the place well. I would suggest that any info he has would be pretty good to know!

Considering going on a public day on May 14th. Do I have to book ahead for a ring taxi? Is there a link or contact details anyone can share?

First year I went (2004), we stayed with Eddy and he took us for a lap, by letting us follow him on his bike. To be honest I was too sh!t scared to keep at the pace he was going so dropped back, but if you've a bit of experience and more nuts than I did when I was 21 then it could be useful!

Either way though, I would always recommend Eddy's as the place to stay, he's a top guy (Last year he took my mate out for a run in his latest toy - a 997 GT3 RS - around some local roads) and his accomodation is always good and well priced.
