Stiff Carbon Road Frames
Discussion
i would probably go for a Trex. their mtb carbon frames are v.stiff and i have heard good things about their roda bikes too. also have a look at the cervelo range.
Primera in Bournemouth would be a good place to start

It depends on your budget, and what geometry suits you best.
The likes of Trek and Specialized have some good high end frames, but I prefer a bit of innovation so would recommend a Cervelo (R3, S2 or S3).
Up to about 2500, so can possibly do better than spec. and trek for the money! I like a fairly steep geo, so may look at the cervelos as they allow the seat angle to be effectively steepened via swithcing the seat post 180 deg.The likes of Trek and Specialized have some good high end frames, but I prefer a bit of innovation so would recommend a Cervelo (R3, S2 or S3).

Don't overlook a Look 595 Ultra, or Colnago C50 HP
or if you want stiff and still pretty light get a 953 Steel frame made to measure by Rourke
heard lots of very bad things about look frames from Guy Hetherington (220 bike road tester, one of my brother friends)..... Colnago seem a lot of cash for what they are. Nice though!! or if you want stiff and still pretty light get a 953 Steel frame made to measure by Rourke

Colnago has a racing pedigree that the new boys like Trek, Cervelo, Scott would love to have to market
Another obvious stiff frame now I've typed those three names is Scotts with its Addict or a lower price point the CR1. Very light, responsive but not a smooth ride like others offer.
Cervelo R3 would be a good choice and have excellent after sales service....their previous model the R2.5 had a recall
Still don't over look that custom steel frame option

Anyone got any experience of the Trek OCLV Red range? he R3 is a nice bit of kit though. Almost ubiquitous these days.
PS the problem with the look was the complete lack of torsional rigidity. Apparantly, you could hold the bars and seat and make the frame deflect a *lot* whilst pushing your foot against the crank. This is almost the same torque reaction that the frame undergoes whilst pedalling hard....

narrowed down to cervelo solist (now S2) or isaac ultrasonic.....
Either of those would make for a great ride... PS I've got a Parlee which is easily the best frame I've had in 30 years of riding and i have had some nice bikes (too many the wife says).
The Z4 is in the same price as those two. Not as obviously stiff as others but plenty stiff for me.

Pez summary
There are stiffer bikes and lighter bikes. But the list of stock bikes that are stiffer and lighter and this smooth don’t require using all your fingers on one hand to count…
Honestly I would rather be on a bike with a bit more compromise toward ride quality than toward the “stiff/light” battle cry of the weak marketing men. But then this test frame is plenty stiff and sub 900 grams, so exactly what I’m giving up for the extra comfort, I simply don’t miss.

brand new soloist from authorised dealer for £1100! done deal!
Very nice - is that a Soloist Carbon or 2009 S2? (With that silly low price I'd say the former, which is still a mega-bargain).It should come with a 3T or Wolf CL fork. Make sure it doesn't have the Wolf SL fork, as that was recalled due to some LBSs incorrectly fitting it, resulting in breakage.

What size is the P-X and what are you planning to do with it?
'XL' (around 56cms from memory (sloping top tube))... selling it!!! It's got a few cable scuff marks etc on it, but is in fair condition and has a 1 month old DA BB fitted. Comes with seat post and clamp, etchttp://www.planet-x-warehouse.co.uk/?page_id=1049
