Discussion
Just trying to guage what people out there have got/ thier mileage to work out potential issues with our possible next car. If at all possible, I would be interested to know of any larger component rebuilds turbos/engines/gearboxes - though I can appreciate if you do not wish to disclose that information. I am bored of the tangents the other thread has gone off to, but the content about what mods people were running was interesting.
Just copy and add to the below;
Model / Mileage / Age / Mods / comments
e.g M400 / 10k / 04 / None /
Thanks in advance,

M12 GTO3 / 24k (bought with 5k) / 2003
The car has been sound in the 3 years that i have owned it (apart from my off at the track...but thats my fault not the cars) only probs i have had that spring to mind are, the manifold broke + my alternator failed due to some dodgey wiring. Its actually been more reliable than my old Toyota MRS (work that out)...who knows, maybe i just got a goodun, or it's just maintained well
. She has seen plenty of track time too.
Mods:
Performance - Roush Exhaust, actuators adjusted, BOV, Re mapped to 380Bhp + 390Ft/Lb (used to run at 330Bhp + 360Ft/Lb)
Handling - Toyo R888's all round, Nitron track shocks fitted with corner weight set up (this was necessary after fitting the sticky Toyo's) These make a big difference at the track, and it still feels pretty damn good on the road too.
Brakes - Grooved discs and Pagids on the way.
This hasn't been said, but if you take the plunge and buy, might be worth checking that the Throttle cable has been re routed. i believe there were cases for some owners where the throttle would get stuck open
...i would imagine that all cars would have been sorted by now though...but you never know.
I personally love the car and have no intention of selling.
Good luck with your search, and hope you find the perfect partner.

Hi BCA,
Think i met you and the cerb beastie a couple of years ago at Harewood
Still got the blue M400 owned from new, still love it.
17k/ 05/ Roush, fuelpump, Faulks IC, hardpipe kit, catch tank and Noble motorsport remap giving approx 460 on their rollers (i really don't think it needs any more!) ap grooved discs
The issues i've had have all been wear and tear related, eg having driveshafts sorted at the moment at JNM. The odd electrical gremlin has cropped up from time to time.
Previously had a 3r sold at 14k/2004/ no mods and no major issues.
Good luck in your search, i'm sure a sorted M400 will give you just as much good service as your cerb has.
Cheers
Steve

I had a stuck open throttle moment at a Snetterton while going down the Revett Straight!!

It turned out that there was no front turbo heat shield and so the throttle cable had melted/rusted and then stuck. I replaced the cable and re-routed it down the drivers side sill. I've since wrapped the exhaust and turbos for a bit of heat management.

GTO 2.5
mbe ecu
have had a few issue
leaking floor
burnt out wireing loom
wiper arms smashed themselves to bits
fues holder corroded
alarm issue
driver door solinoide when tits up
coolant hose to turbo split,
sticking rear handbrake
2nd gear syincro fault
i wish i had the money for a m400 realy but im lucky to have the car, lucky im a tec by trade so i have sorted all these problems, if i had to pay for it at dealer it would have cost me shed loads
im not totaly impressed bye the quailty of them but maybe thats because i have an early 2.5
every time i drive it am waiting for something to go wrong, tho im hopeing to get some use out of it now, and that all the problems have been sorted
i keep thinking of selling it but i think im like most on hear the problems seam to go away when you take noble for a spin,
just wish it was bit faster as well but hopeing trevor maybe able to add a few pony to the old shed
