Blimey! I've never gone so far as to check the thickness of paint on a car when buying one!!!

What kind of motor is this? Must be something quite special.....

Guessing its a 944 Turbo. Should paint be a uniform thickness over the whole car?

Have you asked in the Detailing forum?

Good guess Digger.

It was just a thought. Paint should be between 110 and 160 microns all over the car.

I wouldn't put too much emphasis on what those devices tell you. A car could have had, say, a front end respray because it had been in a major accident or because it had had some stone chips dealt with.

I'm not saying they're worthless, just that it won't tell you why there are differences in the paint thickness.
