Scorpion Prodigy Threewheeler
Discussion
OK, here's a question.
The front suspension appears to have a pushrod from the lower wishbone to a rocker operating a coil-over damper. Pretty standard fayre for a rising rate system.
However, there appears to be a pullrod attached to the rocker too. The pull rod goes forwards and seems to disappears into the nose cone (via another rocker?). Anyone want to hazard a guess as to what this is doing? I suppose the two nose cone rockers could be linked by an anti roll bar. But I'm not sure antiroll works for a trike.
Suggestions anyone?

The Grinnall can put its claws in the air too

Is the Grinnall Scorpion still being made and sold? You don't hear about it much nowadays. I know they made a 4 wheel 'Scorpion IV' version alongside the trike a while ago...
I believe they're still in business....

That Prodigy thing is godawful ugly.
They also might want to think about changing the name too before Marks' lawyers are in contact with them.

Their name is Scorpion Motorsport, the car is called a Prodigy. I don't think there will be a thing that Grinnall can do about it. Edited by Davi on Thursday 5th March 14:30

i like that a lot, I have always had a soft spot for the Scorpion but was never keen on the BMW power plant and was dubious about how it would handle.
Yours must go really well, it has the same power and weight as mine and its scary, but you have the added advantage of the engine over the back wheels which must aid traction.
Is that a factory built car? or can you buy it as a kit?

It is very quick - but handling is pretty good - No ABS or TC so it's all about the "nut behind the steering wheel" ! It is road legal but I have greatly reduced the road runs as the problem tends to be other not seeing me ! It mainly does trackdays - and I travel alot so only 1800 miles on the clock ! You can only buy the car factory built. Mine is one of 6 I believe, 1 in the US, 1 now CAT'd recovered - being developed with a Saab Engine and Ginnall (Mark) has the prototype which has 376 BHP ! Mine is currently the only one on the road. As mentioned before it will have modified cockpit (instrument binical behind steering wheel) a new paint scheme (LR Vesuvius Orange) in April and I'll add some more pictures then. Glad you like itYours must go really well, it has the same power and weight as mine and its scary, but you have the added advantage of the engine over the back wheels which must aid traction.

Yeah, it'll be an anti-roll bar. The 'horns' sticking up out of the nose cone that the other rods from the bellcranks are attached to will be simply the ends of a conventional U-shaped anti-roll bar. It's a fairly orthodoz ARB linkage for a pushrod suspension system - I've come across it many times. The front suspension appears to have a pushrod from the lower wishbone to a rocker operating a coil-over damper. Anti-roll works just fine for a trike; obviously all the roll stiffness is at the front, though.
