I'm looking at these and thinking about possibly buying one..
i want to know how much it will cost to service and run @ 10-12K year.

i'm used to the servicing and maintenance on my XK with dealer prices so can I afford to run a bi turbo v12?

MPG - 15mpg around town to 20mpg on runs?

how much are brakes and pads all round?
how much are the various services?
Merc warranty? a must? how much is that to renew each year?
how good is the merc warranty?

anything to look out for? any particular model years better than others?

Does the CL600 biturbo cost the same to service?

i'd love a S65/CL65 but these are much more expensive and quite rare to find.

any help greatfull!

How much are Disc's and pads all round?......£850

How much are the various services?....£250 1 year..£450 2 year..48k.£900+

Merc warranty? a must? how much is that to renew each year?...Good idea,
make sure it covers the sus' struts...cost not sure £1300?

How good is the merc warranty?...It does cover what it states.

Anything to look out for? any particular model years better than others?
All electricals, rust on CL's, Main dealer history.

Does the CL600 biturbo cost the same to service?...Same running gear so same.

I'd love a S65/CL65 but these are much more expensive and quite rare to find.

Any help grateful!

Coil packs are the bugger on these, both my 2x S600s and my CL65 all needed them.

If it's out of warranty budget for a set, not cheap either £700 a pop.

The Merc warranties changed a few years ago, they were the Signature warranties, which were factory-backed, and pretty much covered everything. Now they're backed by Mondial which are OK, but have claim limits.

Look into a fixed price maintenance package which includes the warranty, there's an option that includes tyres/brakes, and wasn't much more than a std. warranty (not sure if they've plugged that loophole)

Buy one from a main agent is my advice. Mine over the last year cost £760 for 4 tyres all other, but not much, covered by the service contract.

hi

Thanks for the replies, hopefully something will turn up on the Benz site in the near future. The service contract seems like a good idea especially as the car will be used daily.

cheers

Hi there,

I've got a stunning S600 for sale if you're still interested? It's still under Mercedes warranty and has low milage on a 53 plate. It's in the PH classified's and can provide more info / pics on request.

The merc warranty is only limited to the market value of the car, so there is no upper limit. It still pretty much mirrors the factory warranty, apart from the fact that it doesn't cover seals for leaks among a few other restrictions. If you want futher info about the warranty, PM me.
ETA The loophole on the service contract has now been plugged.
