Hi All..
Would appreciate some advice please..
I`m very interested in a VXR 6.0 Monaro.
Could you please advise on..
a. What would I be resonably be expected to pay for a 05-06 plate..
b. Any significant points I should look out for when viewing/testing one.
Thanks in advance..

would expect to pay £15k up there are ones less than that but generally got higher mileage depends on your budget
to be honest if its in warranty still then no major things i know about which wont eventually get sorted under warranty!
some known issues.
squeeky belt tensioners and pulleys
whining box or diff
water in the floor wells
be careful buying a modified monaro as Vauxhall want nothing to do with them so even if you think you are buying a vauxhall genunine VXR500 say for example check again as you may well not be!
Be patient dont buy the first one you see also buy on condition rather than being blinkered by mileage.
and of course buy a red one, some of the guys on here say black is the fastest colour but red looks better.
I bought mine in dec from a performance place in sheffield, 06 plate 1 owner with 42K for just under £13k
But you need to be quick for the cheap ones, there were 3 people turn up to look at mine whilst i was looking it over.

Get as many mods as you can since they dont come cheap after buying the car! And black is the fastest colour so unless you just want to pose with the corsa possy in red I suggest you limit yourself to black cars!
JUST REMEMBER
MODS = NO WARRANTY
if you are easy with that then do what he said

Should perhaps say that Vauxhall may be reluctant to fix under warranty now as they are apparently getting funny about modified cars. If you buy from a dealer you can expect the sale of goods act to still apply. It's quite early days since this news leaked out, so YMMV.MODS = NO WARRANTY

Hmmm... Not sure I'd trust a vauxhall dealer to sit on a toilet the right way 'round let alone work on a monaro, warranty or not.
i agree with you but not everyone wants to buy a couple of year old car with a 6 litre engine and have to pay for things when they go wrong especiallywhen a gearbox is gonna set you back £2k at best!

I believe all 6.0 VXR where imported in 2005 so dont pay over the odds for a newer reg eg 06 07 all that will get you is a higher road tax bill
What he said ^Mine is on a 54 plate and it's never had any warranty work (but then it's only on 9000 miles as well!) In fact, she's still on the original rubber.
I expect mine will be for sale soon
