I'm looking at moving to Haywards Heath and was wondering if anyone had any info on what the place is like to live in. I'll be commuting to London daily for work and this seemed like a good place to base myself. Thanks in advance.

Depends what you're looking for? Its a very popular commuter town but is pretty devoid of any character and has a number of bad 'areas' housing lots of chavs.

Some nicer parts to it though.

How about Hassocks?

It's a dormitory town that is expanding rapidly because it has easy access to the A23 and is on the London-Brighton rail line. Used to have a large mental hospital there, some might say it is still has but now it's spread out.

it's an alright town, but if you fancy things a bit quieter with better driving roads ardingly is nearby, like 4 miles at most. from there access to crawley, burgess hill, east grinstead are all very accessable.

As previously stated pretty souless place. Hassocks & Burgess Hill to the south, much better plus you'll more than likely get a seat on train. Get on at Haywards Heath and you will be standing all the way for the 45 minute jourmey to London !!

Never lived there, but i live in the nice bit of Crawley. The only thing i can contribute is that there are some awesome roads round here* smile

*which is the main thing to consider!

What you say is true, but... unless you're prepared to go out at Dark O'Clock it's almost impossible to enjoy them these days. Those that aren't clogged with long lines of traffic following some tt doing 40mph have been bdised with 30, 40 and 50 limits, some along their entire length.
