I know this is not what she wants to hear but why would you pay full whack before seeing the car? Surely for a private sale you would pay on delivery? Buying through a garage is slightly different as you know where to find them should it all go wrong.

I do feel sorry for her though, must be absolutely gutting.

sounds very similar to a car i looked into (530d), was at a good price so i thought id email him an offer, then he posted back the utter st about being in madrid and how the price would cover the shipping and such, could see right through it, i feel very sorry for the people that just dont have much knowlage when it comes to buying cars, and get sucked in, the autotrader is riddled with these scumbags

To be honest thought. I'm really surprised anyone ever falls for these scams.

"I had payed the full amount to have the car shipped to me and then made aware today that its a scam and its just randoms pics of a car".

I didnt see the advert but I am guessing the car was at an attractive price?

Its not good to hear someone has been stung, but any scam I have ever seen has been hugely obvious.

If something looks too good to be true.... and as for not even seeing the car first, well thats just bonkers
