Hi,

I am currently building a locost, I have been advised that if I use a pinto engine I can mate it to an MT75 gear box.

When I have had a look around for the MT75 it comes up with a lot for Transits. Would anyone happen to know if the MT75 gearbox they would be talking about is the same as the one for a transit?

Because that just seems a bit odd to me...

Thanks!

Surely the Type 9 is smaller and strong enough? I think the Transit gearbox has an odd gear remote for Locosts.

The transit box has the gear lever mounted just behind the bellhousing, no good for most kit car applications.

You can't get different ratios for the MT75 like you can for the Type 9 either.

The MT75 was fitted behind the later DOHC 2.0L Sierras.
