I am in the market for a lightly used Spyder in black or grey colour.

I have been offered the following all in GBP

06 reg 4k grey at 85k
08 reg 5k black at 90k
07reg 3k black at 91k
08 reg 3k black at 99k (probably will settle at 95k)

Do these prices seem reasonable? I know it is a buyers market but where shall I bid realistically? 10k lower on each or 10% lower on each?

Are there better deals out there that I couldn't spot?

Prices have just been 'hiked' up £5k. Amazing what a week does! They must think certain retired Scottish bankers are on the look out for Lambos! I find it amusing when a car has been up for sale for donkey's and the price goes up not down.

There is also another one I found 07 reg grey at 80k at 2k miles. I think that is the one to go for.

if i buy an 08 car at 90k at 3k miles and add 5k miles, what do you think i will lose in depreciation in a year?

you will probably find that words like 'depreciation' stop being of any interest as well

people will start to call you 'The Grinning Camel' or something like that...

you might like that, almost as much as the Spyder wink

not much supply around.. prices are lower yes but there aren't enough cars to choose from.. I will use mine for daily commute to work so cannot look at bright colours although the kid in me jumps up and down for an orange one. ideally would like to buy an 08 reg car lower than 5k miles around 80-85k but that doesn't seem achievable at this point.

Prices of these types of car always firm up and rise in the spring. As the better weather starts to appear people feel more inclined to buy one and enjoy the summer in it. As you've already noted supply is short so coupled this to an increasing demand prices inevitably rise. It's always best to buy a spider over the winter when demand is low and prices are depressed.

I think demand has started to increase and probably prices have firmed up as a result of that. As I said in another thread, not just Lambo's but most 'top end' cars seem to have firmed up as the dealers can't get sufficient good quality stock. Desperado's in negative equity have already sold theirs months ago, and the people that don't need the money are keeping hold of them as they would rather enjoy the car than sell it for peanuts.

I recently got my Spyder and three different one's that I had planned to look at had all been sold before I got chance to even have a look.

I'm also on the lookout for a Gallardo Spider in White for the wife, but I wanted to be around the 70-75k mark ...and I was hoping that the crunch would continue but we seem to be easing a little.

There are some good examples around it's just about patience

As long as you're not picky you'll pick an white 06 plate for around that if the seller is prepared to haggle! IIRC, there's one at Individual cars at the mo.
