Top speed of 8mph.

If he had been on the M25 he would have been passing most of the other traffic

I love the fact some journo tosser thought it would be a good idea to take him back there and make him pose for photos as the cars roared past.

Quality work.

He says he only took one wrong turn to end up on the motorway. I find that hard to believe.

Not really

The first photo shows him coming up a hill? The bottom of that hill is an entry slip from a roundabout on the A259. On that roundabout, the next exit round is for a large Tescos and M&S site.
Perfectly feasible that he could mistake the turning he's ended up on the A27.

nono The A259 is further south. You're thinking of the A270.

He was still on the 'kin road when he shouldn't have been though and must have negotiated the Holmbush roundabout at 8mph too. Pensioners in those things are a bloody menace. I'm all in favour of mobility but there are limits.

His trip had begun sedately enough, when he popped out to buy a newspaper yesterday lunchtime. One wrong turn later and he was suddenly travelling westbound along the A27 towards the Shoreham flyover with cars and lorries racing past him at 70mph.
Popped out to buy a paper... From Mill Hill and ended up on the A27. So, he travelled a couple of miles, went right past a suitable shop on the way, negotiated a major roundabout and only made one wrong turn to end up on a major dual-carriageway. scratchchin bks!

[sarcastic mode on] All that remains is to prosecute the truck driver for using his mobile and driving on the hard shoulder and it'll be another 'nice result' for plod [sarcastic mode off]

Maybe he had gone above 3mph and activated the bomb.

"The pensioner initially attempted to overtake his truck, but apparently thought better of it an pulled in. "

;rofl: Good effort if he had done!
