This post is meant for information for anyone who has sufferred a vibrating or grinding LSD during very slow turns in car parks on their E85/E86 Z4m. The problem affected my car when the car was cold.

Took mine in to the local dealer and they dug up a service inspection bulletin covering the E46 M3 and various other M cars which recommends the use of BMW modified diff oil.

My car is now running well again so it seems to have worked.

My friends E46 M3 had this. Pop into the dealers and ask for the diff oil with the 'additive'. Grinding dissappeared...

It was about £45 for 2L. The diff takes 1.6 IIRC.

My E46 M3 had the same problem and also solved with oil change smile
