Should pensions be performance related?
Discussion
Obviously Gordon the one eyed idiot now thinks so as he is in hot persuit of Fred "the shred's" pension pot.
If he is succesful and grabs a large chunk of Freds pot then surely what should follow would be a thorough examination of the triumphs and failures of the civil service and politicians. Clearly as Brown has presided as chancellor over economic disaster then his pension pot should resemble a chamber pot.
Should this lead to teachers whose pupils fail to pass exams, or University course leaders whose students fail to get jobs losing their pensions.
Hmmmm that would certainly bring an end to Posh and becks studies, perhaps uncle Joe, I mean Gordon, is on to something here.

I would love to see old Paxo ask Brown and Darling what percentage of their pension they should be allowed to keep bearing in mind the f

The 'Final Salary' pension should be axed. Especially in the public sector.

FS > CARE would be ideal, and then close FS/CARE to new employees who just go DC.
Almost all the big co's have gone CARE/DC now, just waiting for the government to **realise** the problem and actually change it all. No doubt lots will complain, but the bulk of those will be the ones with HUGE benefits got from doing sod all!
It is probable that in future, bonuses for performance at the time will be allowed to be added to DC pension pots offset against declared income (salary sacrifice style)
NO way should benefits be promised for the future based on current performance, that just leads us to this problem here where someone who has cost us all billions will be rewarded from our pockets to the tune of £50k a month!
