dont forget to apply with a 17digit chassis number as the old min 8 is out the window.
E marked OEM horn required
CAT1 if using imobilisor on anti theft
the bias brakes are no longer allowed to be pinned the nuts must be welded on and the threads welded to stop any type of adjustment.
Designated rear registration plate position required for permanant fixing plate (visable and upright)

Where are you finding the E marked horn? The book says "The horn must perform to an equivalent level of an EC Type Approved vehicle"CAT1 if using imobilisor on anti theft
CAT1 is in section 13B which is headed 'optional'.
13A just says you must have an installation certificate for your immobiliser.
I also see an FIA power switch and removable steering wheel are not now approved for anti-theft.

Anyone see a sensible way around the bias brake bit? If you fit them, you won't know for sure that you'll pass until you turn up. Only to then fail because you decide to be leave it so it can be correctly adjusted. Is it possible to borrow the local MOT rollers to check it as per the IVA test?

if its just got an imobilisor (mandatory if its not got a machanical device)then it just needs a certificate of compliance. However if its got an alarm/imobilisor combo (which is optional) it needs to be CAT1 approved...??????
i would just fit a E marked OEM horn anyway as they are a fiver of ebay instead of arguing the toss over a clown horn.
reversing lamp now mandatory

Whats the generel feeling on the prices of non registered stuff ?
This Spectre Im thinking about would be solely used and built for track work, with an eye to possible future RGB.
However, there always comes a time when a project has to move on, and Im wondering if the IVE/SVA thing is really worth the ballsache.
What differnce do you think it would make to the price, percentage wise ?
Or would it just take longer to sell ?

Price wise it is difficult to say, as a car built purely for track work may well have lighter/better brakes, wheels and non road legal tyres, and generally be not much use as a road car. However, if you had two identical cars, one SVA/IVA'd and one not, then maybe something in the region of 10-25% depending upon the car.
Oh, do RBG cars have to be road legal/registered? Might be worth taking that into account as I know some race series only run road worthy cars.

RGB is only Mot legal IIRC.
Does that mean it has to have an actual MOT ticket or merely be up to the standard? Because to get an MOT it'll need an SVA/IVA.750mc website said:

thought they were "unadjustable" on the day anyway? being roll pinned.craig7l said:

Can it posiibly be any more anal ?
yes they could, there not asking for air bags, abs, crumple zones. dont give them ideaswhislt it may be a hassle to pass the test, it is passable in the end

Considering a Spectre currently and dont know if I can be bothered to SVA as its only going to be used for track days.
thats great for when you are owning it, but if you need to sell it, i think it would put off many people, even if they were only planning on using it for trackdays, imagine test drives, new owner getting it home etc this is jus my opinion, but im planning on putting a 20 year old kit car through the iva so you should be fine

Have to say the requirement to weld up a brake balance bar worries me even more than drilling and pining.
I'm sure if you asked the designer of the bar if he still stands by the integrity of his design once holes have been drilled or the hardness/temper changed by the heat of welding the answer would be an emphatic NO.
