Just trying to get the battery out for the first time as its gone dead & must need a charge. I have been fighting with it for a good 1/2 hr now but no luck. I've unbolted the plate that holds it in place, but still dont have the room to get it out, or even just get it far enough over to get a clip onto the black terminal.

Am i missing a trick??

Yep - attach the negative charger lead to the airbox bracket, then you don't have to remove the battery

Just tried that and it seems to be working nicely, thanks very much!!

I also picked up a solar charger that connects to the cigaret lighter from maplins, they are supposed to stop the batteries discharging. I dont suppose you know if they actually work??

Mine didn't. Works fine on the bike though.

Others may have had different experiences.....

No, just the small one, i'll give it a go & see. Plan on driving lots & lots now as its starting to warm a little, so hopefully wont have too many battery problems for a while.

I see a thread on here a while back, someone had used one of these solar chargers throughh the cigaret lighter & left the cerb for 3 weeks & it still fired up first time.
