I've seen where it's been done, it can be OK , but often you can see brush marks etc.

Obviously you can usually only go to a darker colur!

Ultimately a retrim is a much better job, however, if you're going to retrim anyway, it can't do any harm to try.

thanks, just most of the cars I look at seem to have dodgy magnolia/cream trim, and I'm not a pimp I would like something a bit more tasteful if possible

that is the colour scheme that dealers generally encouraged.
Get some tinted glasses?

Yes - it's exactly the same as the brush on dye, you just spray it on instead of brushing it.

liquid leather is you friend. google liquidleather and see their site, lots of info and pictures. i had their scuff master kit and dye kit. very good stuff, it hig the wear on my driver colster very well so much so you couldn't even notice it, i also colour washed the seats and dash and it came up lovely. i now have a tuscan seats so the leather is new. no need for the dye.

anyway theres nothing wrong with magnolia leather its nice a bright and doesnt burn you when the sun is out. it just gets dirty quickly.

I've never used it so I can't comment on it.

Leather interiors can be very successfully recoloured as long as the correct products and processes are used. There should be absolutely no brush marks etc when finished (this would indicate poor products and workmanship)

DIY products should always be avoided in favour of professional ones (these will always cost more) as results with DIY kits will never be successful and may then be unfixable. You can use professioanl products yourself but the selection is important.
There should be no loss of grain pattern or texture when done just areally good finish.

These guys quoted me £850 to re-do the leather in a Cerb when I was looking at some with bad interior colours, http://www.trim-star.co.uk

Not used them though so not sure if any good.

I used to do this for a living. Yes you can achieve a very proffsional look with a good quality diy kit. You will need to treat the seats with a cleaning chemical first. Then you spray the dye on using an ordinary paint spraying gun at a low pressure. you let that dry then repeat. You then allow a day for the dye to dry completly. You then apply the clear fixer, using two coats. Allow 2 days for it to go off then finish it with a leather feeder. The garage or where ever you intend to do the job must be at least at room temp. The kit i used had all of the chemicals in the kit. You must take the seats out as you will never get a good job without being able to move right around the seats whilst spraying.
