Just seen this in an equipment catalogue, and even after visiting their webpage, i still dont have a clue what it does, although it looks pretty wink

And also if someone can explain the concept of the 'Lemur' on the jazzmutant page too, it would be greatly appreciated.

It's a customisable control surface - basically a touchscreen with a variety of different graphics on it depending on whether you want to control the mixer / plugins / MIDI CC's or whatever in your DAW (or a combination of the above).

Does it allow you to manipulate individual sounds, or is it completely the different to what i'm thinking, I'm confused, as there is only an ethernet port on the back of the Lemur one.

On a side note, has anyone used one? the one i saw advertised was a shade under £2000, which is my main reason for the questions really. Is it a serious tool, or another gimmick?

Not a gimmick really.. If you mean controlling individual sounds as in individual tracks, then yes, you can. If you mean tweaking synth sounds n such, then I don't think this is the gadget you are looking for. As per the website (just had a quick look) It's for DAW apps such as Logic studio etc.
There are controllers around however that are good for DAW's as well as synths. Lots to choose from! Ultimately all they do is give you more hands on control, instead of doing everything by keyboard & mouse.

While im here.. Have a look at this for a controller! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iKSXPsLJ6f8
