Go to Chatuchak market for more choice and most fakes I've seen have been around a couple of hundred Baht.

It depends if it is a fake or a real fake. The fakes have a ticking motion, the real fakes have the sweeping action. The sweep ones cost twice as much
but can't remember how much I paid, think it may have been £10.

This is going to open a whole can of worms but I know a guy very well who sells very very good replica watches in BKK.

His prices would be between 1500 and 2600THB depending on which model.

I was at Chatuchak market earlier and there weren't many watches around. Currently at MBK and am being quoted around 1700THB. (Just over 30 quid).

Don't buy fakes! It funds criminals.

If you can't afford a real one, buy a Seiko Kinetic - very good watch for around £200 or less legit.

Jesus Christ. Quibbling because a fake Rolex costs £30.

And you know for a fact that the bosses of Seiko don't have any criminal connections?

Buying fakes keeps people in jobs too..

If you bargain hard you can get basic ones with sweeping hands for 300-400B, however the fit isn't perfect - sharp edges etc, but you'd have to be an expert to detect it on someones wrist.

If Chatuchak is the night market then this is where I saw the best fake Daytona I've ever seen. The thing was perfect even down to weight of strap. £40 before haggling. As you walk into the market towards the bit in the middle its on the right hand side. I cant say any more than that on location.

I have a Breitling, Sinn, Rolex and Heuer. The quality was so good it made me question the amount to cash I've sunk into my collection.

The one time you would want your goods to turn out to be fake :P

Bloke A: "Hey that's a really nice watch! Is it a Rolex?"

Bloke B: (select one of the following)
1"Erm yeah, well a fake one.
2"Of course I can afford a real one . ."
3"I was just checking the size before I got a real one"
4"Real ones are such a rip off, only idiots buy genuine watches!"
5"Yeah of course it's real!"

If you are headed down Krabi way, Ao Nang has a dozen shops selling knock offs. IIRC They start at 70 quid and you go down from there. They have everything, I'm not a watch fan but I've always fancied a TAG Monaco. I got offered a decent looking one but I didn't bother.

Be warned, there is absolutely nothing else to do on Ao Nang.

There is a huge range in fake watches in BKK. A good Taiwan made one with stainless steel, good movement, scratchproof glass, waterproof, correct calender adjustment will cost about £30 but it is hard to tell the difference berween all the qualities. I was with a local this week who knew all the samll differences. You can buy them for a fiver but they are rubbish. Waste of a fiver.

If you are in MBK try the foodhall on 5th floor. Very good !!

Good luck

That reminds me of a conversation with my uncle when he returned from holiday with a new "Rolex" laugh

Cousin: How much would one of them be to buy?
Uncle: oooh, about £2-3k
Cousin: yeah, but you paid 20 quid for it on holiday

His face was priceless. He was trying to pass it off as a real Rolex to us.

If you type Rolex replica in Google, hundreds will come up! Probably more expensive than £30-70, though.

If you get them to make it without saying 'Rolex' on the front you could call it a homage!

First off - do you have any information that the Seiko board do have criminal connections? What a peculiar thing to say - you could make such an unfounded suggestion about anyone or any business.

I do know for sure that counterfeit goods manufacturers have criminal connections though.

Not only that, but stealing other peoples designs and intellectual copyright is morally and legally wrong. How happy would you be if you invented something or owned a brand that was endlessly copied by inferior faketeers?

Fake goods are inferior and the gangs behind them are into all kinds of criminality.

Why buy a fake? Just buy what you can afford and don't be a pretence.
