Brown, for obvious reasons. On the subject of, why do new toilets have poor anti-splash design .. you know the bowl is shaped so that there is no 'safety area' on which to deploy the turd without causing splash-back.
get a german spec pan - they have a ledge on which the stool rests on for inspection, if required, before it is flushed seawardEdited by fido on Saturday 28th February 15:01

Very futuristic. You can imagine Buck Rogers having a dump on that... ...in the 23rd century./partridge

White, unless you want to have to change it again in 2 years when it has gone hideously out of fashion!
Does anybody really worry about fashion in this context? If the worry is that it may be felt to be out of fashion in the eyes of a potential buyer of your house, I wouldn't worry about that. Many new buyers seem to rip out kitchens and bathrooms and have new ones anyhow.
Have what best pleases you and to hell with fashion. The fashion 'industry' is only a load of b
ks designed to part you from excessive sums of your hard earned cash. HTH.Best wishes all,
Dave.
