I know this can be a touchy subject, but I received my membership renewal forms through yesterday from the VCA and was shocked at the cost - $115 ~ £80.

Looking back over the last 3 years, the costs have been:

2006 - £26.56
2007 - £23.12
2008 - £31.02

I know the curreny rate has changed, but not THAT much! Is there any reason for the 258% increase, or am I missing something. Is there a special rate we normally get that I have forgotten about?

Renewed mine via the Website before Christmas, was starting to wonder whether anyone over here had received their renewal packs yet? Quite a few in the states have been talking about what they received on the VCA Forums over the last couple of weeks... I've not heard anything yet though.

Nothing yet, only the vca mag and notes a few weeks ago, all part of the experience of being a vca member.

Personally I don't have a problem with it, considering they have to get the badges printed etc, get the packs together and then get everything posted out to everyone. I like having my renewal pack in my hand as much as everyone, but a bit of patience and it will arrive...

The GRRC usually takes about four months from renewal invite stage to receiving your renewal pack, so a couple of months isn't that bad really to receive your pack... And it's not like you aren't a member until it arrives!

Got mine as well.

My model says limited edition 1 / 2500 - do they all say that or have I really got the first one?
