There should be something in the manual. That will give you a good starting point.

If you have lost it, you won't go too far wrong with 36 (f) and 40 (r).*

But if you end up waltzing across a grass verge towards the badgers, don't blame me!

have a look inside the drivers door or on the door striker post,,it should be there,,,,,,if not there either the car has had a dodgy respray or is 2 cars made into 1...so you will have more to think about than tyre pressures anyway.

The tyre pressures are 29 lbs (2 bar) front and 44lbs (3 bar) rear. I found the car will run a little sweeter on superunleaded, but as I cant get any round my way I use optimax and find it ok. Use a few tankfuls first so that its only pulling optimax thru from the tank and then see what its like.

Badgers ref is because I once took my 964RS across a grass verge after misjudging a corner in the wet. Wasn't quite through a hedge but closer than myself or Don would have liked The badgers were most annoyed at my uninvited visit.

Of course, I only did it to show that you don't need a Cayenne to take a Porsche off road

Superunleaded is only 97 ron & optimax is 98 ron (normal unleaded 95 ron) so optimax is the higher octane choice over other superunleadeds anyway.

So by default it should be optimax every time for more grunt- QED, cest bon, pukka.

thanks harris. will persist with the optimax and will sort pressures.
Clubsport; you made me go out to the garage and look you sod! they were there by the way.
Dom, i admire the way you can joke about spinning your lovely rs off the road, still gave the badgers something to talk about!

Spinning is a hazard of running out of talent with a 964RS in the wet - best avoided. If I didn't have a chuckle about it, Iguana would be My response to the situation was to put a half cage in the bugger and invest heavily in trackdays and tuition - much more to come as Iguana beat me by just under a second on a Caterham slalom day

Everyone was driving specially prepped Caterham 1.6 K-series cars. It is a PistonHeads event - see the PH Shop - next one is Silverstone on 30/11/03 and very good fun.

The Lizard also took his V8 bimmer round the slalom track after the caterham thing had wrapped up. 'twas just a bit fiddly & wet to deploy the bimmers grunt- as you might imagine, but i did manage to hold a nice drift round the bottom right hander- I think DustyC may post a link up sometime as he got it on Video.

Ok Dom I will try to sort out a bigger challenge for next yr for us, as I'm trying to sort something out for 2004 to enter a few rounds of the ex CCC sprint championship, so you can have a timed try against me in the same car on the same course.......

so-

Iguana- driving for Pikey Performance - The Lucky Heather Racing Team'

Vs

Domster- driving for Team Badger Worrier Racing- we don't just proclaim we are the best racing team, we go even futher & have a Proclaimer as our driver.

Well, i have just completed a 400 mile round trip and i absolutely love my porsche. it behaved extremely well(unlike myself). never missed a beat and blew away everything that challenged me. A303, M3 and M25 all good fun! Infact i felt like turning around when i got home and going back just for the drive.
New shape M3 had a go but i showed him who's boss. All other Mercs bmw's and Audi's were very polite and pulled in out of the way. its the bloody 1.4 astra s and such like that get in the way, or think they have something to prove. My mother has an SC and we went for a little jount which was pleasent although she didnt like it when i pulled up next to her at the lights and looked across revving the engine, days of thunder style.
