Well just got back from Rockingham. Great organisation from Bookatrack and very gentlemanly driving by all which was nice.

As I suspected the circuit did not suit the car but I was able to explore the limits of the car which was the purpose of the visit. During the morning when the circuit was wet I spent a lot of time spinning up the rears which was fun at first but became frustating when you are having to pull over to let cars past due to lack of traction. Even using 3rd gear on corner exit was no good so I ended up using 4th. Still I got to learn the circuit.

Afternoon was much better, a dry track meant traction was less of a problem but then a new problem surfaced. Brakes. One hot lap and the brakes were juddering like hell. All in all I spent most of the time getting out of the way of faster cars so I think I'll do Silverstone next which I am sure will be more suited to the car. Has anyone driven Silverstone in a Monaro and if so what was it like?

Glad you had good time. I did Silverstone GP in 06, it really suited the ute. The fast long flowing corners are great plus its a smooth track so doesn't upset the suspension. If you can push it hard you will be one of the quickest out there.
I'm doing Spa in July with Bookatrack, c'ant wait.
I now run with DS3000 pads on the track (track pad only)

Brakes uprated already, but I will have 2 piece DBA 5000 front disc's and bigger cooling vents by then
