I'm looking into buying a Seamaster in the next couple of months.

Which features should I be looking for and more importantly, how much should I be looking to invest for a decent example?

The watch will most likely be pre-owned.

I'm at a bit of a loss as this is my first experience of 'proper' watches.

Thanks for the reply. That looks lovely. That sort of price seems very reasonable.

Also, what is the most prefered on here? The Seamaster or the Speedmaster. Not that I will buy what others prefer, just interested because I am split between the two at the moment.

Seamaster probably puts up with everyday rough and tumble better having a hard as nails crystal vs the plexi on the Speedmaster.

As above though, go with what you like best.

Not sure which copes better with rough and tumble of everyday life, but both of the Seamasters i've had have been spot on - coped with everything thrown at them. Only reason I've got the 2nd was I traded in the 1st as i fancied change from blue to black. Seeing so many Subs around these days that I'm almost wishing I didn't have kept the blue one now though..
