The main problem with blind dates - you end up going out with the kind of people who get set up on blind dates.

How blind? Do you have any idea what they look like etc before hand?

Never been on one, but I've known a mate to get on very well with his. They are still living together a couple of years later (though this was a set-up between a mutual friend, but I assume that is what many blind dates are?).

It can get messy down the line if it works.

I set up a close mate up on a blind date. He was best man at my wedding.

The girl was a colleague and good friend of my wife.

A few years later, the two were married and had a child. They set up home on the other side of London.

My mate asked me if I thought his wife was cheating on him and asked for the truth. I took a deep breath and decided that honesty was the best policy. I wouldn’t have said anything, but he had asked a straight question, so I told him the truth.

I knew from my wife that she was having a fling with someone else at work. So, I told him the facts.

It ended up with him forgiving her. She told him it was all over with the guy at work. It wasn’t and she carried on with the other guy for another couple of years.

But she made sure that he never met me again, so I lost my best mate.

So, I wouldn’t set up another blind date.

I was once offered a place to take part on that show by one of the producers.

I declined with thanks....

Me and my mate went on double blind date once, he had been talking to some girl on the phone through work and they had aranged to meet , I was single and asked "if she had any mates" we ended up going to pick our blind dates up from their house, the front door opened and a very nice lady answered the door, I was nudging my mate saying I hope that's mine, turns out it wasn't it was the girl he had been chatting up on the trumpet, we go through to the lounge and there waiting for me is the nanny from countducklia! Blind date, I wish on that occassion I was blind!
