Spent the weekend there. Stunning place in a really beautiful location - we were quite lucky as it was under 2feet of snow a couple of weeks back! Its a very remote place in the middle of dartmoor with the river teign flowing past the front.

The staff were extremely attentive (in a very non-intrusive way and I'm sure its a place where when we go back they won't need to ask what paper we want or what we'd like to drink).

Sommelier had stunning knowledge and the food was absolutely brilliant - no tricks or surprises but all really well thought out combinations and featuring pretty much all local incredients.

Even the extensive cheese board was mostly covered with devon/somerset/cornish cheeses.

Thoroughly recommended.

Yeah, Michael Caines - turned up on Sat in his 911 turbo wink

Hmmm, is it expensive? I guess that depends on what you consider to be expensive!

Its a beautiful old building in the middle of a national park that has a 2 michelin star restaurant with service levels througout to match, so its on the pricey side of things - but no, I don't think its expensive for what you're getting.

Though to be fair I didn't think it was expensive at all, cos it was a treat from my wife smile
