Hi

Sorry to start another Which...thread but which internet/mail-order wine sites do you recommend? I have obviously heard of Virgin Wines and Tesco Wines but what others come recommended. I want to be able to buy a good bargain but then if I fancy buying £100 bottle of champagne (for a special occasion etc) I can do that too.

Lay and Wheeler of Colchester.

http://www.laywheeler.com/

Good wine merchants and have a pretty good web-shop you can buy it on.

I know some other guys I use more for fine wines but they don't sell on-line in the same way.

They are just down the road from me, expensive is one word that springs to mind, the summer wine tastings are good though drunk

Lay and Wheeler have just been bought by Majestic for about £6mill. Not sure how that will change things....

I buy my wine at Tescos, Laithwaites, and Majestic. And I buy in the odd nice shop if I'm visiting a new town, and also at wine shows tastings. I search online for fine wine suppliers for anything very special - Fine & Rare Wines was were where I bought some 1996 Dom Perignon for my wedding.

I go to Majestic stores in person rather then use the website. There is nothing better then spending an hour on a Sunday going around a Majestic looking at all the wines on offer and also doing a tasting of plenty of wines they have put out. Its all rather civilised, unlike most shopping experiences these days.

I use Air Miles, which is Laithwaites. Never had a sarsons experience with them ever.
