Seller! How are you doing, i hope everything is going on as planned. Well, I'm highly interested in buying your advert posted for sale on internet. These are the things i would like to know about it. 1. THE OWNER? 2. THE CONDITION? 3. THE RECENT PICTURES 4. THE LAST PRICE YOU ARE GOING TO SELL IT FOR ME? Concerning my payment method, it would be by MONEY ORDER, CASHIER'S CHEQUE OR DRAFT. Kindly get back to me if you are still interested in selling it for me so that we can proceed. Best Regards,
Guessing by the poor wording of the email, i'd say ut was written by a foreigner, but the email address is "Jerry.Alex@..." Which doesn't really sound like a foreign name to me.

I do have a car for sale, but I automatically assumed this was a scam of some sort. Anyone else recieved an email like this?

Yep, it's a scam.

Think the key feature is the non-perfect English, along with the request for the "Last Price". That seems to be a common thing across all of these emails.

The money order or Draft will clear in your bank account, you will be happy and let the car go. Two weeks later the bank will decide that it was a fraudulent order/draft and take the money back out of your account. You are not protected against this. If you take a draft you have to get in contact with the issuing bank and verify that it is genuine.

Thanks.

I think i might string him along just to waste his time, and if he wants to come and see the car, i'll give him a fake address or something.

The bloke only wants to buy your advert, not your car! wink

tell him he can have the advert for £100 and then just email him a screen grab of it after payment has cleared!

Cheuqes never used to fully clear. they used to just hang around. It was decided this was unfair on customers so the rules changed.

In reply to the OP I've had loads of emails like that for the car I've got advertised. Anyone who asks for your last price is, generally, a scammer.

They put 6000 in your account, you take the 2500 for teh car and send them 3500 'change'.

Their 6000 was a fake bank draft which it withdrawn/deleted/cancelled, they have your 3500.
