Removal of Service Bonnet

I have booked my P&J in for a bit of TLC this weekend and will need to remove the front service bonnet. It all seems pretty straight forward from a first glance but wondered if this was the case? Any tips on removal?

Hi Jon,
If you get stuck mate give me a shout, my Mrs can do it in no time

If doing it on your own, cover the edges in masking tape because you WILL rub it against the rest of the body and no doubt scratch it whilst undoing the two bolts that make the hinge.

Ok, so best bet is to use low tack masking tape and cover each side of the service bonnet.

I then have to undo each bolt on each side and carefully remove? out of interest is there a fixed bracket/ nut in each side of the wing?

Hi Jon,

I fitted a new grille to my tuscan, it can be a real pain in the arse! Give the allan key headed bolts a good spraying with WD40 soon, as mine both sheered off had to drill and tap new ones in.

Take the opertunity to change the bolts to stainless ones. It makes things much easier next time...
