Italian Itch is it good bye to my Noble

I know I must be mad but I'm seriously thinking of buying a Ferrari or Lambo. I know it's not a good time to be selling but I am sorely tempted.
So could someone talk me out of it
Or if someone is interested in a GT03 with 14.5k miles azure blue and in tip top condition please drop me a line.

fancied a Lambo myself, but they do seem very very expensive to maintain instead of just very expensive.

Unless it's a 360CS or an F430 go for the Lambo IMO.

Hmmm cant say the Noble has been cheap to maintain TBH though maybe most of it is upgrades instead of just maintenance, but it just seems to be constant maintenance

Depends what you like really.

Gallardo. Sounds great, manual is easy to drive and it's not too big. Brakes are the best bit of the drive though to be honest. It's not very involving. Not boring but not as much fun as you'd think.

360. F1 box isn't great. 430 F1 is streets ahead. In fact the 430 is streets ahead in every respect, apart from looks maybe. Storage is great on the Fiat's though and the fuel tank is massive. Very good range.

So if it were my choice, if I wanted a fun drive, 430. If not, Gallardo.

Got budget in mind?

F430 - a real machine, and with some of today's used prices a bargain. And not an Audi toy.

Not sure yet about budget, obviously need to see what I can get for the nob then have a look at some finance deals, depends how brave I'm feeling. Probably go for an early 360 to be honest 50-60k max. Want to keep at least 60- 70 % equity in the car so if I had to drop it in a rush I wouldn't be left with anywhere near neg equity .I always want a way out without leaving myself owing and to impatient to wait to save the lot.

My only advice would be... unless you can afford the one you really want then wait and save a bit more otherwise the experience might wear off too quickly.

Agree with this completely, I found the 360 a bit "snappy" and Reckon it would be all too easy to get into trouble. The 360CS is a completely different car and for my money surprisingly less of a handful, even the paddle box (only option) was reasonable.
The F430 is the nuts to drive in nearly every way but it really does need the carbon ceramic brake option (standard from 07 on).
I found the Gallardo a bit of an anticlimax to be honest, but I would have to say it is the better looking car and probably edges it for me over a standard 360.

I have been after a Gallardo since the Noble went and could just about stretch to an early leggy one now, but TBH, I quite like the wait whilst knowing exactly what I'm waiting for, and I've also decided to go for the MY2006 Gallardo, as I read they were a vast improvement over the MY04 cars in a multitude of aspects.

Used to be dead keen on the standard 360, now at great prices, but having read lots about them, I think I'd rather get a 996 Turbo instead! Better still, during this recession I'd get a Clio Cup 172 Gave Matt Faulks' one a good thrashing last weekend and although Matt had fiddled with it a little, it was the most fun I'd had on the road since the Noble, and it cost him £3500

I had a 996 Turbo before the Noble, IMO don't do it. It is a very capable car but totally un-envolving to drive.
Fantastic everyday car but no sense of occasion at all.

After my M400 I went SL55 AMG with 600 bhp DMS upgrade, but now in a 2007 Gallardo.
Tried the 360 ferrari / porsche turbo and wasn"t very impressed with either to be honest, so uninvolving to drive as said above, the lambo won it on looks and sound + the 4 wheel drive grip!
Lambo was not my 1st choice but after driving one I was hooked.
