lots of animals are transparent at that depth, no point having any colour if theres little to no light to see it.

Seriously funky.

As for the point, why not? Why does there need to be a point. Maybe it makes it easier to see in the dark? Does there need to be a point for all animals? The platypus is pretty bizarre.

Maybe the Great Floating Head in the sky has a sense of humor? jester

Theres a girl who works at our local in Derby who actually looks like a deep sea fish. You know the really ugly ones, that come from so deep down they have to have a lamp in front of their heads? Imagine that, but with a knackered lightbulb and you're not far off.

And she's ginger.

Because the transparent part is the weakest part. The fish has to survive getting its arse bitten from time to time too.
