Someone made one of these for the Griff and had it at one of the Griff Growls.
Does anybody know who it was?
I know they are considered naff before everyone feels they have to tell me. But the Griff will have a nice new paint job just before the run to Le Mans which in previous years has completely trashed the front end so I'm looking to protect it a bit, not drive around with it on all the time.

Pulled up from 1998 and the Chimp forum.
Not my Thing but what ever floats your boat and no doubt you pick up a fair few chips on Track days and Hoons in convoy so if it per longs the dreaded respray then why not.

I've emailed the chap who did the work for the one I saw at the Growl. No response yet but I'll let you know what comes of it.
Failing that then, what about the plastic stuff (3M?) you put on, FFG has this on the flipflop yellow car and its always looked good to me, but that's a light coloured car and I wonder how 'invisible' it is on darker colours?
Does anyone know where I can get it from and/or what it costs?

It is Paintshield and was put on at their UK head office in Grantham. It was the first Griff to be done and I was their all day designing the pieces with them. Speak to Tom up there who is a pleasant chap. Cost wise depends upon whether you just want front pieces, mirrors, door jamb etc.
We had it due to the colour and the fact it can't be matched so didn't fancy a £5k respray every few years. Considering its probably covered around 40k miles I think its still looking good.
If a front end respray is less than a grand and if you're not covering big miles I would think the every 5 year front end spray option is a better one.

TVR Power's new bodyshop have an offer on at £650+VAT. Not sure which colours that may or may not cover.
As the white one is a funny colour it can only be a full respray so not an option for us.

In case anyone is interested in this, and missed it on my car at this years Growl, I went ahead and had the Car Bra made.
It was a PITA having nothing but the car an idea and a couple of pictures to work with but I've got it fitting nicely now and tested to 3 figure leptons recently (somewhere private obviously).

I got Paint Shield on the Griff.. (Red Glow) and it's a top job... takes about 3 hours (now they have the paterns)... and also this stuff has come on a lot from the early days... non yellowing.. sticks very well, non-lifting at edges, can be removed(not sure on that one yet)... but it does give you peace of mind against the annoying chips... it can't be seen most of the time.... the finish on the material is not as shiney as the paint but that said, it's not a problem (and I tend to be a perfectionist!).. I'd go for that... had a bra on a VW once.. the edges rubbed the paint off..
