So.... when trading in my car earlier last month I did a quick valuation on 'webuyanycar' to see what the very bottom of the market was looking like. It was just over £13k (05 plate SMG, fully loaded, 50k on the clock).

And now a month or so later they've sent me another email with a valuation of nearer £15k, quoting a shortage of used cars on the market. Still not what I actually got for it on the trade - but not far off.

Now on the one hand that's likley because nobody has been stupid enough to sell them their car for such low prices. But on the other hand it could be because prices are genuinely appreciating..... Anyone who's been reading V8mates's auction threads might well go with the latter......

Interesting times.

(Also did the same on a Porsche I was looking at buying at the time, and likewise there's another £1.5k in today's revised valuation)

having used that joke website myself wink i would says its more likely they haven't had one person dumb/desperate/lazy enough to sell to them at the offer prices it spits out. it might be a good business model on paper, but i guess the reality is far different wink
