Mobile Phone tarriffs...nowts ever easy!!
Discussion
My 18month contract with T-mob is up and I've been on the phone trying, in vain, to negotiate a better deal than they want to give me. Apparently paying out nearly 30 quid a month for last 18months and pay as you go for 18m before that isn't particularly loyal! Cvcnts!!
Best they can muster is the flext 20 plan with web-n-walk included for nothing (I already have flext20 but pay for web). Trouble is I regularly go over my call allowance, so in reality I will be paying somewhere around £25/month, not 20. Also they charge for retrieving voicemail, which is rubbish as I get a few of those a week, and it's the only way you can clear the voicemail logo off your phone! It's also an 18m contract and I really don't want to be tied in. The sales guy used this as a positive stating that at the end of the next 18m they would be able to further discount my bill in the future.....how how about fvvck off mate.
So I'm looking around and o2 are doing the simplicity job, only a 30day contract (which I like).
1200txts, 600mins (enough for me) and free web bolt on, free voicemail. That's only £19.58/month.
Anyone know of any better deals out there?
Oh and are T-mobile obliged to unlock my current phone given I've paid for it now, I'm happy to keep it, don't need a new one?

I rang up o2 when I was due for an upgrade, and after asking for my pac code he gave me a much better deal than what they could initially do.
o2 do seem a lot better at this than other networks. Threaten to leave T-mobile and say you get a better deal else where. If they match it then fair enough, if not go somewhere else.

No they are not obliged to unlock it.... but networks will usually do it for about 30 sheets... but they send it away, its usually the only way you can keep your phone warranty and unlock the phone.
Orange do 600 mins unlimited texts for £20 p/m 30 day contract
plus if your not good value for a network they wont give you anything if you want to leave... infact they probs will shut the door behind you and let you spend sweet FA with another network regardless how long you have been with them!!! Not that im suggesting you have spent sweet FA!

I'm hoping T-mob will do this to save messing about. If I get the same chap who spoke to me like it was them doing me a favour they can bugger off though.o2 do seem a lot better at this than other networks. Anyone know about getting it unlocked? I know I can take to a phone shop and done for a fee but I shouldn't have to really, it belongs to me now. It's an n95 btw.

My girlfriend is with T-Mobile, anytime she sees a better tariff with another company for the same monthly fee with T-mobile she rings them up, and they match it or beat it !!!
??? HowWhat I find really infuriating is that they won't give you the deals advertised on their own fvcking website!!
The deal he offered me is exactly what a new customer would get, which is underhand, to say the least.

I'm only a light user in the grand scheme I suppose but still, I thought we were in a downturn.
Cheaper to get it unlocked myself then!
That orange one is ok too but I need internet access (how else can I surf on here whilst on the bog at work?)

I want to pay £20/month, no more no less, and be able to browse the web.

It cant be sorted with internet bundle for that in store, but it is a fiver per month for 500mb... if you ring Orange direct(phonr) up or go on the web they might be able to sort you out with a good deal as they often have different deals than we do in store!!
