When I lock the car up there is a green flashing light in the centre console (think its from the door lock button??) this is flashing very very fast constantly and i am worried that it will run my battery down, what could be the problem and how do i solve it??

It stops when i unlock the car, but starts again when i lock it.

Yes this would be the door lock button. Dont worry about it its perfectly normal and it should flash when the car is locked. If you press the button while your in the car it will illuminate constantly and lock the doors so that they cannot be opened from the outside. To unlock it all you have to do is open a door from the inside and the light should also go out (FYI). I have seen a few posts about this so i think there are a few people who are a bit unsure about it. Hopefully this will clarify things.

Ok well hopefully it will be ok then, I just can't remember it doing this before it went for repair. That was 4 months ago to be fair and I can't remember what happened yesterday. Ah well.....

I have just checked the hand book and it turns out i was wrong! It says "The LED in the centre of the switch will flash slowly when the alarm is armed. If it flashes rapidly when there is a fault" I'm assuming that it means if it flashes rapidly there is a fault? The hand book has quite a few sentences that dont make sense like that.

I posted about this a couple of weeks ago. It wasn't flashing before but then it just started and it is a rapid flash. Haven't noticed any faults with the system though. Weird.

Ring Carl Baker.

He'll be able to tell you if you have a fault developing or not.

Why is he psychic? Lol! Seriously though the guy is good! Very helpful! Good idea to get his opinion on this.

Oh dear, well I appear to have broken something...took the door control box out of the car to check any dry joints and when I replaced it, connected one of the connectors the wrong way, now I can't open the passenger door or the boot....any ideas? New control box?

Well it looks like i'm going to have to be the bearer of bad news i'm afraid. I too made this mistake and it cost me a new control box. I paid about £400 for a new one but the last person i spoke to paid more like £100 but i seem to remember his friend managed to repair his old one so it may be worth speaking to him? I think his name was Simon? I may be wrong? I'll have a look for his post later unless he comes forward, but i'm on my phone at the moment. My old box is currently whith Joo from former TCS or whith someone he knows but i think he's been a little busy so i'm not sure he's had chance to look at it yet?

Well thank the lord my circuits are working.....got back into boot during the daylight and checked the fuses, had blown the passenger door lock/boot lock fuse......all working again, not going to worry about green flashy light syndrome again until something plays up. All doors lock and car is armed, so dont know what problem is and quite frankly, dont care now either. laugh

That is seriously lucky i would say! I've heard of a few people who've got the plugs the wrong way round for a split second and damaged the expensive control box, me included. Yes if i was you i wouldn't worry about it. Maybe check to make sure the alarm dose go off though? Just to make sure its secure.
