Hi Wooly ere,i bid and won possibly this very car last year, same colour but she was wearing a different reg no and had worn a few other no's before.Definitely the same seller cos i remember the house but one photo included a woman holding a baby. The seller advertised it as having done 36000 miles but when i ran a check on it it had amassed considerably more in 1998,also its had at least 12 owners and had been registered stolen/recovered on its history.Needless to say i had grounds to withdraw from transaction although 4700 quid sounded a bargain.Actually i recall someone on here being the new owner i thought cos i asked him how he was finding the car!!!!!
Something very fishy about the seller and the car i fink

Ah no.
You're getting confused with my car, I think.
I originally bought my car from 'brummmie' (currently ownner of the 600+bhp Cerbera, and PHer) back in 2006.
He had bought it as a cat D, with only minor damage to locks, dials and glass. I saw the car before he bought it.
It had covered about 70,000 miles IRC.
Brummmie then carried out a bodylift chassis refurb, including new outriggers and mounting plates. The chassis is still superb and shiny red throughout.
The speedo was replaced along with other damaged dials....hence difference in mileage shown.
The 400SE engine was removed for tuning, and then swapped with a Chimaera 400HC engine, to which he fitted a new Real Steel 218/220 cam. (Brummmie owned both cars). The Chim engine had done about 38,000 miles. Other parts were replaced and renewed, like new master cylinder and a set of steel braided brake lines...not to mention the uber powerful Clarion sound system.
This was all documented and discussed on PH, as brummmie carried out the work with the assistance and facilities of his friend, who runs a very professional tuning workshop.
I sold the car in 2007 due to divorce issues, it having been totally reliable and trouble-free.
I then saw an ebay add in March 2008.....
The clutch was slipping on the car when I bought it back, and I've since had that replaced with an uprated one, along with new engine mounts, and also had the rear brake discs replaced, handbrake sorted, etc.
HOWEVER, the ebay seller has sold a red Wedge previously (also discussed on here, as it was a bit of an oddity), and this latest one, which appears to have been a car previously advertised on PH as a car in need of chassis repairs, for £2,500. I may be mistaken about that of course, but the add is still shown on PH classifieds as a 'sold' item.
Not much escapes the attention of the Wedge brotherhood.
Hope this clarifies things for you.

Now i understand what you are saying. This Mark in Malton seems to be a bit of a dealer masquerading as a private seller cos when i won your car last year on Ebay his history showed that he had sold other vehicles recent to the date, anyhow my first query you've put me right on cos they are different cars.Having arranged the cash last year to buy that car i ended up buying a new engine for current wedge and a kitchen of course to keep me on right side of the BOSS
Re your whistle, sure no one has stuck one of them exhaust whistle thingamebobs up the pipe cos thy go well

Yes, I think you're right about the guy.
I was just fortunate in knowing my old car when it came up for sale with him (He'd had it about a month).
Many moons ago I used to sell fitted kitchens, but now I've got rid of the ex
I can buy and sell what I want, when I want.
These days I'm a happy but busy single parent, with custody of my kids.

Well that's great.
Hopefully the new owner will join the Wedge fraternity here.
I think I'd better point out that you and the guy selling the Wedges are not one and the same person though, to avoid any confusion.
I must get along to one of your breakfast meets, should I manage to get up at the crack of dawn, and maybe have look round your forecourt at what I can't afford.

Afternoon all, i am the person you are all talking about, I bought the 400 from mark in Malton last week, Spent all week cleaning and doing lots of little Jobs
just to set the record straght about the Chassis.
The lady who place the Ad on PH from yorkshire really didnt know wot she was selling.
The chassis has had work in the past and does need time cleaning the out riggers up and re-painting etc
Not as bad as it was made out in the Ad !!!
drives spot on i am very Happy
Few more weeks of Love and TLC
Cheers

Welcome to Wedgedom Paul !
Wow...looks like you got a good buy then....that's how it goes sometimes, eh.
My first Wedge was a car that everyone shied away from because it had been stood for a long time. I bought it for peanuts and it only needed the brakes freeing off to get a shiny new MOT.
Lots of help and advice always available here.
