Possibly a silly question, but where is this exactly? Do the carpets lift up?

I want to get to the heater valve and give it a spot of oil, bit stiff on the controls.

It sits vertically at the feet of the passenger and is a sheet of carpet covered plyboard. There is pull-loop top centre. Pull this towards you and the panel comes out. It aligns with two pin fixings along the top that don't always re-align when you replace it. No need to touch any floor carpet.

If you really want silly questions, I had someone at a car show ask if it was front wheel or rear wheel drive....when both the clams were open hehe

My answer was :-

'Well, I suppose it depends what direction you're going....'

They smiled and seemed happy with that. Every one's a winner hehe

Mine does too if I don't put it in right. The nuts/screws on the back of the panel need encouraging to go through the holes in the dash properly. I found softly lifting the dash bit up and down and pushing the screws through the holes gets it in better. Think the threads catch on the holes.
