Goodbye from Chim, hello to Tuscan S Mk2

I'm now an official Tuscaneer, just swapped the Chim for an '06 Tuscan S Mk2 from Hexham H C. What a beaut!!
Just a little bit different to the Chim, will take a little bit of getting used to, but what a car!!!
Here's to many miles of happy motoring - I did 25k miles in 2 years in the Chim and I may well be doing that in the Tuscan (wallet willing). Regular use and the occasional spanking - does them good, I say!

I have also gone from a Chimaera to a Tuscan 2 convertible, but via a much loved Tamora. All the cars are of the same marque but are surpringly different. The Chimaera was old-school, typical British sports car with loads of bottom end torque and an ability to eat up miles in a relaxed manner, although, when pushed it was certainly fast enough. The Tamora was quite different. Its reactions were much faster, it was a very quick machine, and certainly nowhere near as relaxed, although it was comfortable, if somewhat fidgety. I have not done many miles in the Tuscan, but it seems already to combine the best elements of my previous TVRs. Here's to happy motoring!

My beloved tuscan has been gathering dust for far too long now but I hope to go home soon and fire it up. It deserves a decent run and so do I!

I have to say that I am really impressed with the Tuscan - the wife said today - "I can't believe it's a TVR"
"Why?" says I
"well, obviously it's different inside, much nicer design, more space, more comfortable and better finish than the Chimaera but this is so alive, so much more exciting"
Leaving aside my somewhat 'edgy' driving whilst I get used to it, that is quite some praise from SWMBO!
My perception is that the difference between the Chim and Tuscan is almost akin to the difference between analogue and digital. Very difficult to put into words, but certainly a whole new ballgame!
Loved the Chimaera, but going to the Tuscan was definitely the right thing to do.

me too changed from chim to tuscan 2 in january.must say the chim was an absolute joy to own i loved every minute but the tuscan is in a different league.still taking it steady slightly faster on the last outing than driving miss daisy but what a joy when you get above 4000 rpm.
the only comparison i can liken this to is trusty old cart horse to thorough bred race horse

Congratulations on your new purchase, Richard. Alloy pearl is a gorgeous colour, just made for the sensuous curves of a TVR. I swapped from Griff 500 to Tuscan S Mk2 - best thing I ever did, they're awesome. Be prepared also for significantly more gawping and thumbs up from small boys in your Tusc
