I'm in the process of putting together my set-up for recording in car (trackdays, road-trips, etc). After much browsing and searching and reading through some posts I've decided upon a basic setup but still have some questions. I don't want to spend pro-level money but also don't like crap image and crap sound (ruins any video for me really). Here's the planned shopping list:

- Sanyo HD1000 (Hi-def cam that will also be useful for recording exterior shots and the ocasional leisure video)
- 2 4Kam bullet cams (one a wide angle)
- External microphone (for better sound quality, looking for a power mic to put outside near exhaust for ex.!)
- Quattro video processor (to be able to have PIP, for example, one camera facing forward other on the footwell and camera switch)
- SD based Recorder

My questions are really related to the recorder, the one offered by 4Kam seems rather flimsy and low capacity but I'm confused if something like the Archos can receive a feed from the video processor. Also I don't know if the processor can receive input from the video cam as it (the cam) as a hdmi video output.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated!
