International payment by 'VISA' on Ebay?

Selling a geeetar on Ebay and guy from Portugal wants to pay me by Visa,how straight forward is this?I always use Paypal and it's relatively straight forward.Amount of money involved is over a grand so just wanting to make sure it's a safe way to do it?He has zero feedback but has been a member on Ebay since 2005.
