Thought I'd put this to the PH massive, we've just taken care of 1 year old Collie x Husky in a sort of emergency situation cry Basicly it's our neighbours dog, they are splitting up just as she is popping a sprog. We've had some concerns over the dogs welfare in the past & its come to head this week & we've agreed with the neighbours to look after her until a home is found. It's that or a trip to the RSPCA pound in the next week & we'd like to find here a home if possible, weve spoken to the RSPCA & they said to see if we can find a suitable home for her locally this week.

I will say now she is a "problem" dog though not in a nasty way at all, she's does'nt appear well trained, either on a lead, to sit, the basics etc, she's used to being indoors all day & is a nightmare to catch outdoors! I just spent an hour finding that out rofl However she is very sweet, very nervous too, quite likes attention once you get her confidence, she's a bit scared of men, but more than happy to jump in a car & go somewhere (that's how I caught her). She's fine with other dogs, our two are happily all cuddled up together with her. She's young so most of her issues could be resolved with a good loving home.

I would suggest she'd be only suitable for someone familiar with dog behavior & training, plus of course a secure garden, she's good at agility type escapes smile Her name is Kylie.

She looks lovely. You could try putting her up in the Private Rehomings forum on www.dogpages.org.uk which is a non-commercial site primarily for small, independent rescues. You might also get an offer from a rescue that fosters dogs rather than puts them in kennels. That way she can get the attention, training and assessment that she needs.

Hope it works out.

From your posting- the wording, it sounds like you like her. Ok your trying to 'sell her away' but why dont.....you keep her? smile
We've only a small house & have two dogs already! Solo arrived late one evening unannounced on the doorstep with his bed & his chewy bone looking for a new home, like Rupert the Bear smile Was the best that ever happened to us & we've now two springerdors that get on like a house on fire biggrin

Update: The rather lick young blond RSPCA lady popped in to have a looksie not long ago & the local Dog Warden lady popped around too as the dog was known to her. Looks like she'll have a new home sorted for the weekend with one of the dog carers who'll retrain her & keep her as her own dog thumbup

We rescued a mutt a few months ago. If we hadn't I'd have had her. Sorry I can't help more.

If all else fails, let the Dogs Trust, rather than the RSPCA, rehome her - they will never put down a healthy animal.
