2.9 V6 tickover issues
Discussion
Well been out a few times now the weather is improving, Gerald is going like a train - except at tickover. Tickover speed was rock steady at just under a 1000 rpm before the winter now I'm getting fluctuations up to as high as 2000 rpm. I have sat it on the drive and allowed the fan to kick in and then cool down but still its not right. Sometimes switching off and restarting sorts its, but not always. leaving it in gear and letting the clutch out pulls the revs down but as soon as you depress the clutch back up they go.
Help and advice please

I would start by cleaning the ISCV and check the connections. Also check the big loom connector that sits in the V under the coil - high resistance in there can affect the signal / voltage at the ISCV and it ends up all over the place.
If not, then next bet is an air leak - check all those vacuum hoses to the manifold and plenum for perishing or cracking.
