I have an ipod with all my music on it, my girlfriend now has an ipod, but has no clue how to 'work it'

Easiest option is to just put all my music on her ipod but is that possible? I,m sure it is as i seem to remember reading something about it on here.

I dont want to wipe my itunes stuff, maybe that wouldnt happen but i,m dubious as i dont really like itunes as i have wiped things in the past myself.

Double click on i tunes as usual, hold down shift as it is loading. Then create new library.

Is it really that easy?

iTunes is a royal pain in the arse when it comes to stuff like this.

No help to you I'm afraid but you're not alone.

Close itunes and open itunes again whilst holding down shift, but this time select choose library and find your old one.

Your old one will be there. Use the drop down bar at the top and select my music and your old library will be there somewhere.

I just use one iTunes for my iPhone & Nano

All our music is in the library, then I created a playlist for the phone and one for the nano.

iTunes recognises which is which, and syncs whichever is plugged in biggrin

That was the easiest way I've found, also means I don't get his crap music clogging up valuable space hehe

Yeah you can put your music onto her ipod, but i think it will delete any music she had previously on it.

Apologies for hi jack, but I also have a question relating to I tunes...

I had a pretty large library on I tunes, all synched to my I pod. However, the laptop is now buggered and awaiting replacement, I have an account with iTunes etc. What will happen when I install iTunes on the new laptop and connect my iPod ? Will it clear my iPod? Or will the iPod sync the tunes on it, to my newly created itunes?

Thanks all

It will wipe the ipod.

Try something like eph pod to get all your tunes back from your ipod, and then add them to the new iTunes, before connecting the ipod to iTunes smile
