Cheshire to probe speed claim Nov 7 2003
Daily Post
CHESHIRE police have been asked to investigate speeding offences allegedly committed by the daughter of North Wales' chief constable.
Kate Brunstrom, 18, was allegedly caught driving at 61mph and 69mph on a 50mph stretch of the A55 in Colwyn Bay. But because of the sensitive nature of the case, the investigation has been handed to officers in Cheshire.
In August a national newspaper claimed it clocked Miss Brunstrom in the family's V-reg Ford Focus with the same radar gun used by traffic police all over the country.
Guidelines from the Association of Chief Police Officers - of which the teenager's father Richard Brunstrom is Road Policing chairman - recommend police should prosecute motorists travelling above 56mph in a 50mph zone.

Er, what is there to investigate, she speeded, she should get the points and the fine... Same rules as everybody else please...
My expectation is that nothing will happen because she will not have received an NIP within 14days. Anyone who wishes to bet against my prediction is welcome to send their VISA card details to me by e-mail.

Jeffrey you cynic!
Actually reckon you're right on the money with that prediction!
I mean there you are sitting in the fixed penalty office and up comes the keeper's address......
What would you do?
Apart from muttering "Oh [expletive deleted]!" that is.
Is this as a result of the speed tests carried out by The Sun? Presumably thats why no NIPs were served. I suppose the question is can the police use information/evidence from a national newspaper to charge people with speeding.
Must admit however that it does seem a trifle unfair attacking Brunstroms daughter, as she is an adult in her own right. Not her fault her dad is the fool he is!
