I'm wanting to buy a decent wax, but nothing too expensive. I've seen a lot of shiney pictures of both Collinite 476s and Dodo Juice Purple Haze, so thinking of one of these, but which one? The paint's black, 3 years old with a few swirls but nothing too bad. I probably clean the car every 2 or 3 weeks, with a full polish job every 2 months or so.
Also, I've got a tub of Zymol cleaner wax that I've been using, but not really sure what it is. What is a cleaner wax? I've been using it as a final coat after washing, claying and then SRP. Should I be appling the cleaner wax and then a proper wax?

before waxing make sure you clay the car, then prepare the paint before using the Dodo Juice, using Lime Prime. It will improve the depth of shine.
Collinite is an amazing 'old school' product and can be topped off after 24 hours with a second coat of something 'wetter'.
The devil is in the preparation and the application...warm wax....a not too much.

Ok, this is getting more confusing! Looking at the Blue velvet, what's the difference between a hard wax and a soft wax? Is one easier to apply, does one last longer? Sorry for all the dumb questions but I'm a bit new to this - just used to use a bucket and sponge! Also, how neccesary is the Lime Prime? I don't think I can stretch to £25 for that and £32 for the dodo juice. As I'm a wax virgin would I be better just seeing how I get on with the collinite first?
hard waxes are easier to apply in the sense that as they are harder it stops you applying too much wax. then because of this a pot of wax will last you longer. They also tend to be more durable.
the lime prime isn't essential but will give you a completely clean surface to work on and help the wax bond to the paint. this is turn gives better gloss and durability.
as mentioned above, the main difference in look is in the preperation.
