steering rack

hi.. does anyone know where i can get a complete steering rack for my mk1 2003 4.0L tuscan and help would be much appreciated. thanks

I'd give some serious thought to sitting a rack from a later Tuscan. I think these are 'slower'. I find the steering just too quick.

found a one will cost over a grand !!!! can get mine recon for £115+vat no choice!

I'm sure I heard somewhere that they're actually Peugeot units?

what a nightmare be warned!!! i had a mechanic come round last saturday and we removed the rack, i then took it to a repair specialist and had the rack re-con. my car is up on axle stands oil res removed drained of all liquids water, oil, steering fluid and wheels off. the mechanic WAS supposed to come back this sat, but no show, no call either, typical of this country. so now im stuck with the job or replacing the rack myself, that would be fine with a manual, im not sure how many turns to remove the track rod end etc. as he done that. also bleeding the system after fitting, so all in all im left hanging.i have no trolley jack to lift off the axle stands either so i cant even winch it onto a trailer to take to the garage!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thanks malcolm the mechanic for dropping me right in it.
