Gah, just when I was planning to get her going again I have to replace the high pressure fuel line from the filter to the next copper junction.

Does the flexible hose run all the way from the filter to the copper pipe that passes behind the bulkhead?

Also is there anywhere upstream of the 'bridge piece' that passes over the wishbone where I can cap off the feed? The larger bore 2" connector on mine is marginal and I've still got about 5 gallons in the tank irked

Ah, just seen this... So the copper pipe extends all the way back to the rear arch.

So what is the other flexible pipe that follows the same routing for?

Could well be the carbon cannister, does it have it's own separate return? Makes more sense than having a long flexible run under pressure!

You and your bloody "change the fuel filter while you're in there" hehe

There is the fuel return from the pressure reg to the tank, on the O/S chassis rail, the Vent from tank to carbon can is normally on the N/S and crosses over across the steering rack area IIRC.

That makes sense, so the longer flexible run just carries vapours back?

Now, about the bridge piece upstream of the pump, surely I've not got to drain the tank to do that? banghead

Use your pump (Hotwire at the relay whatever) and a bit of pipe to stick it in petrol cans. Just dont run the pump dry, and drain last bit manually wink

CCannister allows venting both ways ~ this one way valve rubbish is a misunderstanding about those pipe connectors in the trumpet base, as far as I am concerned.

When filling air goes out, as tank runs down air comes in, temp/pressure changes of volumes go either way.

TBH I'm glad it went when I clamped it... Might as well have new hose down there to match the bulkhead stuff. Wouldn't want it failing on the move.

When I clamped the large diameter pipe between the tank and the pump to swap the fuel filter it started seeping fuel. I did the one between the bulkhead and gearbox last year (you have done yours, right? smile) so I'm just doing the rest of the high pressure stuff as a precaution seeing as it's fourteen years old.
