DIY Dent Removal
Discussion
Anyone used one of the kits sold on ebay?

My wifes car has picked up a few dinks here and there and I wouldn't mind having a go at them myself.

Hi Mate
Been looking at these myself. Not 100% sold tbh, may try the small cheap suction cups over that.
Have you seen this?

Paintless Dent Removal (PDR) is not a skill that's picked up overnight. Training and many months of practice allow a PDR tech to work on the simplest of dents. It takes years to gain the skills for most dents.
These quick fix tools are rarely effective. Firstly, if you do manage to get the glue to stick properly, you will probably end up with a high spot or spots - what do you do then? Do you have the necessary tools & skills to knock them down again - probably not. If the glue sticks but pulls the paint off (check the comment about resprayed vehicles in the ebay listing) what's next?
Dry Ice Technique - Even if you do find some dry ice, can you be sure it's going to work? I wouldn't hold my breath... It's not the secret weapon of PDR techs - none of them use it, why?
I think we've all be taken in by some of the claims made for DIY specialist tools, but using them on probably the second most expensive thing you own after your house, may not be the wisest move.
Good luck.

Suction cups will only work on large shallow dents and even then chances are it will pop back in after a while, due to the metal being stretched. PDR really is one of those things that takes years to master properly, and the reason some of the PDR techs make it look easy is because they are simply good at it!.
Just trying to find the dent with the end of the tool blind is hard enough and thats the easy part!
