I've never really seen the point in these?

Once the novelty has worn off, they're going to sit there displaying the odd image, forgotten about. You might as well pay less money for decent professional prints of your own photographs and hang them on the wall.

I bought one for my dad, because I couldn't think of what to get him for his birthday.

He's found it really useful, as he takes it with him to show other old people pictures of his grandchildren.

To be fair, he could do this with regular photos - but then the house would be full of photographs and this way he's just got a couple of memory cards.

I got one but really never use it because

- the frame is a bit st
- the screen updates far too quickly and so it gets annoying when on in a darker room.
- Also it does loads of different wipes, a bit like watching Star Wars, or a bad powerpoint presentation. This annoys me.

So, get one that's not just a China special. Get one that lets you customise all this stuff.

We market a good top spec one that seems to be very popular. Takes SD card and has built in memory also as well as two tiny speakers [Dont ask!]

Just make sure you go for one with reasonably high resolution 800 x 480 is about right. And dont pay over £50.00

They're a rip-off. I was looking at a 20" one and then I realised that I could buy a Mac Mini + 20" Apple Display + Keyboard & Mouse for less!

I have a Sony one.

Someone bought it as a Christmas present for me.

It's pretty good quality, and works well but I don't really see the point of it. 80% of the photos I take are poor quality, so cycling through them seems a bit futile.

If you have good photos, buy a normal £20 frame and spend the money on a really good quality print.
